Most see Rob Gronkowski as a force in the football world, but the former NFL tight end has also become somewhat of a style icon. A quick peek through his Instagram account reflects a man who, if nothing else, has taken the business casual style by the horns and made it look even more comfortable.
That’s due in part to his shoe game. In many photos, and in TV appearances like on The Tonight Show, Robbie G can be seen donning Wolf & Shepherd dress sneakers. The brand is known equally for comfort and firm pricing, but right now, two of its best styles are featured in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Men’s dress sneakers, like those from Wolf & Shepherd, have taken over the workplace. They can be seen everywhere on lawyers and finance bros but also on game analysts like Gronk, among others. There’s one style in particular that’s been as big of a target in the world of business casual wear as No. 87 was running downfield — the Wolf & Shepherd Crossover Longwing Oxford — and right now, it’s discounted to $199 during the Anniversary Sale.
Though Gronk is part of the brand’s “Wolf Pack” of brand ambassadors alongside other sports legends like Maria Sharapova and Steve Nash, he had been spotted on Fox Sports as early as 2019 wearing the comfortable dress sneaker before working with them — the style speaks for itself.
I was lucky enough to try a pair for myself, and it’s clear to see why Gronk likes them. Made from full-grain Italian leather, this Portuguese-crafted dress sneaker has been creating separation between itself and competitors over the last handful of years. The leather is superior, not just visibly, but to the touch, and it’s evident that the brand put design first when conceptualizing this shoe. It’s a little heavier than other dress sneakers but in a way that makes you feel like a boss. The memory foam cushioned insole and rubber outsole support that feeling providing enough strength to comfortably pound pavement across the longest of commutes.
The Anniversary Sale features the Crossover Longwing Oxford in two colorways: “hickory,” which is matte dark brown, and “cognac,” a textured British tan. Either option is a fine choice for day-to-day business casual wear, but the hickory might be easier to maintain.
In addition to the Crossover Longwing Oxford, another Gronk-worn shoe made it into the sale. The Wolf & Shepherd Swiftknit Lace-Up Derby, available in “stone gray” and “denim blue,” is a more breathable, lighter-weight dress sneaker that’s great for warmer weather. This shoe features the same incredible sole as the former, but instead of leather, it has a knit upper that provides more flexibility, ventilation, and overall freedom.
